Billing Control Panel
Let's start off with the billing center. The affiliate system is now up and running, and a number of UI enhancements have been done to the client side control panel. Here's a small list:
  • Affiliate System (Refer your friends!)
  • Support Icons (GUI Enhancement)
  • Live Support Integration
  • Account Contacts (Manage who has access to your account)
  • Email Archive (View all Emails dispatched)
Security Enhancements
We've taken the liberty of adding some new filters to our firewall, mod_security, apache and php configurations. We're now filtering blacklisted IP addresses, email servers, domain referrals and advanced injections techniques server side. This may not block all those bad scripts and injections, but it certainly helps.

cPanel Updates
We've updated to a new version of WHM (cPanel 11.25.0-C40255 - WHM 11.25.0 - X 3.9) – Notice the new favicon? Looks fancy. For all the resellers here, check out the new icons in the WHM interface. cPanel sure has done a nice job with the place.

Free Accounts and Email Access
All free accounts no longer have access to pop3 and imap due to abuse. You can upgrade your account at any time to instantly gain access to the mail server. You can still use webmail and send email from your website. But you cannot use 3rd party applications, such as outlook or thunderbird. This does not effect paid hosting account customers.

Social Media
We've been trying to expand to new platforms to keep our client base connected, other than our forums. We're now on twitter, and facebook! Great news! A lot of competing websites out there have integrated aspects of their hosting services into their control panels. We though, hey, that's a great idea! It's honestly been on on our low priority to-do list long enough. Any current customer on any of our PurgeHosting hosted Packages, excluding resellers and reseller accounts, now has the new cPanel Theme.

You can view this new design from your cPanel in your PurgeHosting account. We've installed it on all servers with all of our clients. As you can see, we've integrated some of our features and frequently accessed parts of the website, including other control panels. Previously, we were pushing the news and live support details using the cPanel news from within WHM. But this was a poor concept, as that would also be visible from within our resellers' client websites. The Live Support and news from PurgeHosting, is now only displayed to PurgeHosting clients.

We've got some great news. I'm sure we're all tired of dealing with the random slowness and the occasional downtime. Well, it's time we did something to correct the problem. We've acquired a second server and we plan on moving all free clients to this server. All paid clients will remain on the main server. We will make every effort to ensure 100% uptime during the account migration. Here are some things you need to know.
  • The Billing Portal (iPanel) will be unavailable for up to 24 hours during the move.
  • Paid Clients do not need to do anything, as this move does not effect them.
  • Free Hosted Clients may have up to 24 hours to DNS Propagation, although we expect little downtime or difficulties.
  • Your cPanel login URL may change, for all free clients.
  • If you have your own domain, as long as this domain is pointed to the name servers you will have to make no changes.
  • Here are the new IP's for the server: 70.85.188.250/254

We've got some good news for you (and perhaps some annoying news). But the good news is that we've upgraded our server! We're now running Apache 2.2 and PHP 5.2.6. This is the newest version from the Apache project with performance improvements over Apache 2 and Apache 1.3.

So, what does this mean for you?
Well, you may need to modify your web site to accomidate for the new updates, security, or features. If you're getting an "Inernal Server Error" You can log into your cPanel, and navigate to the error logs section to see what's causing the error. PurgeHosting is getting a Server Upgrade and now we have a confirmed date. This Friday (Oct 5) at 11:59 PM the server will be temporarily disabled while we transfer the accounts. Once the accounts are transfered it will take anywhere from 24-48 hours for the domains to propagate. Your accounts will be disabled 1 hours before the transfer's begin. This is to ensure that no data is changed while the accounts are being transfered. You will have a message displayed on your website explaining that the server is undergoing an upgrade. You will continue to see this page until your DNS has propagated.

Anyone that pointed their domain to PurgeHosting directly using the IP Address will need to open a support ticket and request the new information. For everyone else that pointed their website to PurgeHosting using the Name Servers will be instantly updated. This means that once the transfer is complete the only reason you see the upgrade page is due to the fact that your ISP has not updated.

You will have 10 days to do the update on your domain for those who pointed it to the IP, before the old server with your account on it is no longer available. Any questions you may have can be asked in the forums or by opening a support ticket. The new server will be four times as fast as our current one, with new hardware installed and a fresh update of cPanel you will very much enjoy the new services. This will also put an end to any downtime or errors you may have recently experienced.

We've got good news for Free Hosting Customers;

The Base Domain is now phost.ws. Basically this means that in stead of using PurgeHosting.com as a base domain for subdomains you can simply use phost.ws. This domain is much smaller and easier to remember and type.

Let's say you don't have a domain, but you still want a website. Well, now you can with PurgeHosting.com! Lets say you want a gaming website or domain. Well, you can have your website url as follows: gamefan.phost.ws

Before the new domain, that would be: gamefan.purgehosting.com

As you can see, it is much smaller. Another good note to add to this; the domain activation is instant! That's right, you no longer have to wait 24-48 hours for the subdomain to propogate. Your website will be instantly activated as soon as it is approved.

PurgeHosting has just gone over a complete make over. Every aspect of the entire site has changed and evolved in to what we like to call "an improvement". A long with some updates, many new features have been added to the site, as well as the design, obviously. With that said, let's review all of these.

The design of PurgeHosting.com has been under construction for months and is finally publicly available. Thanks to all the people that helped making it just perfect. I'd like to add that the design also matches the forums, support suite, and billing center in all browsers. Functionality and Design was professionally tested in all browsers to give the best presentation. You might also notice, that its now partially coded in PHP.

You no longer need more than one account to have more than one website hosted with us. You can now order more packages on one account, as well as services for each account. The Hosting Packages have been changed due to the recent upgrades to the server. Accounts with the Standard and Advanced Hosting packages have been automatically upgraded with no extra change or payment changes.

However, due to the amount of ultra and reseller accounts here we have decided to not change those accounts. If you would like the new Package(s) applied to your account please create a ticket in the Support Suite and we will upgrade your account for $4.00 USD.

This is a one time setup fee, and your account will be upgraded to the new package at the same rate you have been paying.

Each account now has 2-5 more gigs of space available for only $2-$5 more.
Upgrade, is not required, but recommended.

Also, all of our dedicated IP's have been sold, if you are a reseller customer and want your own Dedicated IP address for your account, please request it.

Due to the amount of Reseller customers we no longer offer unlimited bandwidth with the new package, however 400 Gigs should do the trick wink.gif Don't worry, the newly available amount of space should make up for it.

We have been getting alot of customers lately and we now have enough of them that a server upgrade is required. So, as promised, when the server is in need, PurgeHosting will continue to provide.

We will also be selling out packages with more space. This will NOT effect any current customers, unless the upgrade is requested, and there is a one time fee for the upgrade.

However, you will not need to pay any new prices changes, meaning that you will pay the same amount for the old package, with the new setup. This is simply a "setup fee".

This is also a notification, that the server will be Offline on Friday, March 30th, 2007. The server will only be Offline for up to two hours between 1 AM and 5AM, but we are not expecting it to take very long. This is just to place a new hard drive in the server, this will not effect any customers.

If anyone was having a problem sending or receiving emails this is why, to my knowledge the problem has been fixed. PurgeHosting has taken steps to ensure this will not happen again.

Free users are no longer allowed an email account. If your email account was removed, or you are need to get your email restored, please create a ticket. This is for free customers only, you must create a ticket to request an email account.

Some free accounts have been terminated, specifically those accounts to which have no data on them.

The website has been redesigned. Everything that was said that should be fixed has been. Everything that loaded slow now loads faster. The forums now match the site, and not just load in an iframe. More information has been added. You can now submit testimonials right over the website. And more, please check it out. The forums have also been upgraded to the latest version.

It is integrated with you cPanel account, thus meaning you can login to your iPanel Control Panel with your cPanel Login. Within cPanel you can create tickets regarding Billing. You also can now manage your billing via invoices and pay for your hosting, upgrade it, or cancel it right within your iPanel. thumbsup.gif
